Knights of Columbus Services
The Knights of Columbus are a large organization dedicated to expanding the work of our leader, Jesus Christ. The Knights are men of the Catholic faith who are best known for pancake breakfasts, grilled hot dogs, and other fundraisers. Some of the not well known functions of the K of C are once a month visits to the Veterans home and the "Haven".
When the church or a priest or faith formation organization or Christian Educator needs something, the Knights are called on for support.
In Rockford the Knights of Columbus are represented by council 7761 Our Lady of Consolation and there is a council in Belmont at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Although the Knights very often are thought as insurance sales agents or Grandpas who get together to play cards, making the local council successful is an enormous task requiring the management of 20-40 regular workers and an entire group of about 150. It takes energy to keep up with these guys and the many events that are produced each year, yet the Church could not get by without them. Currently we are recruiting young 16-30 year olds as there are events needed youth. If you are male and 16 years of age or older, come on out and work with our men of faith and action.
