04.20.08 - DESSERT - Gospel Music Channel is nation's fastest-growing cable network, by AP Television Writer David Bauder: "Only a few thousand families in Tennessee were able to see the Gospel Music Channel light when it began less than four years ago. Now it's television's fastest-growing cable network - available in some 40 million homes, more than a third of the nation. It reaches a milestone Wednesday when it carries live coverage of the annual Dove Awards for gospel music. The co-founder of the Gospel Music Channel attributes its success in part to a lesson learned from his father, the late televangelist Rex Humbard. Humbard embraced inspirational music of all forms - June Carter and Johnny Cash, Mahalia Jackson, Andrae Crouch and Amy Grant all performed on his show, said Charley Humbard, co-founder and president of the Gospel Music Channel. Similarly, the Gospel Music Channel plays the gospel sounds of black churches, edgy Christian rock and rap, mainstream contemporary Christian pop and even Latin gospel music, he said. Radio station owners typically recoil from presenting so many forms of music, and some in the industry believed the Gospel Music Channel was making a mistake. Instead, the network has been accepted by fans of all forms of inspirational music, Humbard said. 'We like to say in here, "multiple styles, one message," ' he said."

12.24.07 - Hello and Merry Christmas to all my readers. I have updated this site to reflect and celebrate Christmas Day. I have also added the "The Nativity of the Lord" mass, and the long awaited interview with artist, Ted Larson. The interview is located in the section entitled, "Ted Larson: An Interview" on the right of the homepage. The photo above is of Ted. There is also a Christmas story called "Remember My Birthday" by an unknown writter, but summited by Wayne and located under the Special Articles section.
Blair, who had long been a member of the Church of England, converted to the Catholic faith during a Mass held on Friday night at a chapel in London, the Catholic Church said.
"It can be confirmed that Tony Blair has been received into full communion with the Catholic Church by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor," the head of the church in England and Wales, the church said in a statement.
"I'm very glad to welcome Tony Blair into the Catholic Church," the statement quoted Murphy-O'Connor as saying.
It said he had been a regular worshipper at Mass with his family and in recent months has been following a program leading to his reception into the church.
There had long been speculation that Blair planned to convert to Catholicism. His wife, Cherie, is Roman Catholic and the couple's children have attended Catholic schools.
Blair, who is now a Middle East peace envoy, met Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican in June.
Earlier this year, the former prime minister told the BBC that he had avoided talking about his religious views while in office for about 10 years for fear of being labeled "a nutter."
In England's last census, 72 percent of people identified themselves as Christian. Many are Anglicans affiliated with the Church of England, which was created by royal proclamation during the 16th century after King Henry VIII — who married six times — broke ties with the Roman Catholic Church in a dispute over divorce.
The Church of England has said that less than 10 percent of its members are regular churchgoers.
Britons often express surprise at people who openly and fervently discuss their religious views.

10.28.07 - The time has come and November 3, 2007 marks the beginning of Shareathon 2007, and Spirit FM 90.5 needs volunteers to spend a few hours helping the staff from November 3-9. Volunteers’ duties will including answering phones and pick up meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The shifts are 6-9AM, 9AM-1PM, 1-4PM, and 4-7PM.

10.20.07 - Journey Fest, a three-day family camping musical event will be held at the Sertoma Youth Ranch in Dade City. The entertainment will include bands performing a variety of Christian music from rock to country, and it will all take place on three different stages.
