Barnesville Assumption Church at 307 Front Steet North, Barnesville, MN 56514 US - Captial Campaign for Building Repairs

Our parish is currently participating in a Captial Campaign for repair work that needs to be done on our buildings. Projects that need to be addressed are as follows:
1. Tuck pointing about 20% of the church. Repair brick work and fill in mortar joints. There are hundreds of loose bricks toward the top of the church tower.
2. The church steeple needs repair. New louvers, painting of trim and new shingles are necessary on the steeple.
3. The two stained glass windows in the balcony area need attention; they were not repaired when the north and south windows were done several years ago. Some window work needs to be done in the sacristy.
4. We needed to replace the windows in Hildebrand Hall. This project was completed last year.
5. The pipe organ in the church can be repaired and brought back into operation. The Baldwin organ company, from which we purchased our present electronic organ, has gone out of business. If our present organ fails, it would cost over $50,000 to replace it with another organ.
6.  A new roof needed to be installed on Hildebrand Hall. This project was completed last year.
7. A new roof on the church will be a future need. The present shingles were installed in 1985. They are already over 20 years old. After 2010 this project will become a necessity.

In order to accomplish the above listed projects, which go far beyond our current ability to maintain and inprove our structures, we have set a  pledge drive in place, asking members of the parish to make a financial commitment to the needed repairs for our parish.
