Marriage preparation guidelines: If you will be seeking marriage in the Catholic Church in the future, the following Diocesan guidelines are pertinent information for you; minimum time of preparation is six months; set up a meeting with the Pastor to begin the preparation which includes a Prenuptial Questionaire (determining your freedom to marry); completing the personality inventory; meetings to discuss the personality inventory results; participation in a pre-marriage retreat (Engaged Encounter Weekend, Marriage Preparation Seminar Program). Numerous options are available in our area, and information is available in the parish office. It is strongly recommended that you complete this retreat at least 3 months prior to the wedding; meet with the Liturgist to plan the wedding litury. Please note to be married at Assumption you must be a registered member or delegation must be received from your parish priest.
