B.I.C. News

The Order of the Knights of Columbus establishes the Father McGivney Guild to promote the cause for canonization of its founder, Father Michael J. McGivney. The goal of the Guild is to spread the good word about his homeless life and to encourage devotion to his memory, and to seek his intercession before the throne of God. Every brother knight is asked to support the efforts to enhance Fr. McGivney to sainthood by becoming a member of The Father McGivney Guild. We have the applications at the council. Take a few minutes to fill it out and leave at the council we will mail them to New Haven.

Bic Bits...Just in time for the holidays, the Bishop Ireton Center has received a new face lift, inside and out. A new dance floor has been installed in the main hall and repairs to the outside of the building have been completed. The Center has received a fresh coat of paint and the job by Vass Painting Contractors was superb. A big thank you to all those BIC members who worked on the planning and implementation of the renovations.

Oktoberfest...A big thank you and a job well done by Brother Rick Brennan and his committee for "restarting" our annual Oktoberfest. Over 200 people attended this sold out event. The food was excellent, the music by the "Washington Continentals (from Baltimore)" was well received and everyone enjoyed the sing along with Whitey Keller. A special thanks goes to Frances Tidd who helped with the preparation of the food along with "Herr" Horace Scott, Frank Gobel and Frank Cuffe. Great job y'all.

For all your catering or banquet needs, contact the Bishop Ireton Center office at 276-9959and ask for Nadine Brodzinski our operations manager or Bobby Brodzinski, the catering manager.  They are there to serve you.
