Council 6735 at 43 West Maple Street, Merchantville, NJ 08109-5141 US - Organ Donors Needed

Organ Donors Needed

The State of New Jersey and the U.S. Government passed the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act allowing a consenting individual to donate his/her organs upon death for the purpose of transplantation or medical research.

In order to qualify as an Organ Donor you must

  1. be 18 or older (those under age 18 require consent of a parent or guardian),
  2. check the back of your driver license, specifying the organ(s) you are willing to donate,
  3. document your decision to donate in a will or on a donor card (witnessed by two people).

NOTE: Checking your license (or Identification Card) is simply a declaration of your intent to be a donor; step 3 is also necessary.

To obtain a donor card, or for more information about organ and tissue transplantation, please call:

New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network
(800) Share-NJ

Don't take your organs to Heaven, God knows we need them here.
