Safe Environment Program
The Diocese of St. Petersburg Safe Environment Program Office under the aegis of the Office of the Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for the oversight, operation, maintenance, and enforcement of the Diocesan Safe Environment Program. This office and its staff are dedicated to the protection of all children and vulnerable adults from abuse, especially sexual abuse.

There have been important changes to the Diocese of St. Petersburg Policy for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults as well as to the Minimum Standard of Moral Conduct. These changes affect background screening and training of employees, volunteers, clergy, and contractors/vendors. Click on "From the Desk of the SEP Manager" for details.
Adults whose Safe Environment Program (SEP) training (For unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults) has expired or about to expire can now recertify online. Initial SEP training must be face-to-face but recertification training can be accomplished online or face-to-face. The training is good for 5 years.
