In 2010 the focus is “Sent.” Now that we have gathered in Jesus’ name and have been nourished by His Body and Blood, we are sent as individuals and as a community to be Jesus to the world.

Living Eucharist Sunday:

In an effort to truly celebrate what the diocese has reflected upon Bishop Lynch has designated, for this year only, the Fifth Sunday of Easter (May 2, 2010) as Living Eucharist Sunday in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Through music, homilies, intercessory prayers, and ritual we will be invited to become involved in spreading the Good News of the Gospel.

Also we will be encouraged to share our faith with those who have left the Church or who have never heard of Jesus and to reach out to the poor and marginalized through ministries of mercy and justice. Parishes are encouraged to take advantage of the Easter season and the feast of Pentecost to have ministry fairs, promote advocacy, stewardship, and vocations.

In the weeks ahead resources will be made available online related to helping parishes prepare for Living Eucharist Sunday and beyond.
