Flower Of Carmel Hermitage at 200 May, Enola, PA 17025 US - Home

The Hermit Sister is a Diocesan Hermit under Canon # 603.

The Church recognizes the life of hermits in which Christ's faithful withdraw further from the world and devote their lives to the praise of God and the salvation of the world through the silence of solitude and through constant prayer and penance.
Hermits are  dedicated to God in consecrated life.  They publicly profess by a vow of the three evangelical counsels, poverty, chastity and obedience, into the hands of the local bishop. The live a particular Plan of Life under the guidance and approval of the diacosean bishop.

"They manifest to everyone the interior aspect of the mystery of the Church, that is, personal intimacy wtih Christ.  Hidden from the eyes of men, the life of the hermit is a silent preaching of the Lord, to whom they have surrendered  their life simply  because he is everything to them.  Here is a particular call to find in the derest, in the thick of spiritual  battle, the glory of the crucified One".
Catechism to the Catholic Church #921
