In today's fast paced world, the Guild of Our Lady, CCW is searching for people willing to give of their time and talents because each one of us has special gifts that God has bestowed upon us. Please use all your talents, we need them this year! We are encouraging you to join us!
The Council of Catholic Women is like a fine Quiche. In the D’Alsace Region of France, Chefs could be very creative with their Quiches. Perhaps the Chef would add some bright and interesting vegetables: spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, yellow and red peppers. Then, the Chef would add special variety of cheeses: for example. a few chunks of pepper jack, cheddar, or feta. Next, sprinkle some chopped ham or chicken to create a heartier luncheon. Finally, sprinkle Cayenne all over it to create a succulent, mouth-watering sensation!
Our Council of Catholic Women consists of women who have donated their time and talents for many years here at Sacred Heart. They completed many projects, helped many families, and raised huge amounts of money. They are a hearty group but they grow tired!
We must add some `vegetables'! Mothers who are working outside the home, please participate! Some mothers may not be able to attend a lot of meetings or work on every project, but they might be willing to bake for one of Sacred Heart’s receptions once in awhile. Perhaps they could encourage their teenage children to babysit for an hour so another mother could participate in our Church activity, or maybe they would be willing to work on one project a year. We will never know if you don’t let us know how we can help you join us.
The exciting “cheeses” in the Guild of Our Lady must be our new, active members. Please pick up a membership brochure located at one of the tables in Church. Maybe you are new to the parish or to our faith. We understand that you have new ideas or creative ways of accomplishing things that we haven't tried. Won’t you come share your talents with us?
Finally, let’s add `cayenne pepper' to our quiche, we need to encourage young people to participate! All those young women, over the age of eighteen are encouraged to step forward and see what the Council of Catholic Women can do for you and what talents you can show us—spice us up!
When you mix them all together, a wonderful quiche is created! The Guild of Our Lady, Council of Catholic Women can make a difference in your life and those you love! We need YOU! We are praying for you to join us and keeping an open mind, an open heart, and an extended hand to all the women in Sacred Heart!
EASY BAKE QUICHE RECIPE: Spray butter over pie plate, position (1) one oven ready-made crust and crimp the edges. Sprinkle ham, cheese, onions, mushrooms, feta and some pepper jack cheese, slice a garden tomato over pie crust, a little cooked spinach or broccoli (be creative here!). Next, beat 4 eggs and one (12 oz.) can of evaporated milk in a separate bowl and pour over all the ingredients; sprinkle with “cayenne pepper”; bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes or until firm in the middle and crust is golden brown. Voila! It gets better! Store in refrigerator and then to re-serve, heat each piece individually in your microwave for about one and a half minutes covered by a paper towel sheet! Transfer to a cool dish; add a garden salad, a few potato chips. Serve with a nice tall iced glass of pink lemonade and enjoy!
