Creator God,

we honor tonight these storytellers,

who have used the gifts you’ve given to the human family

to weave in words and images

the unfolding story

of how hope and love are alive in our world.

In honoring them,

we praise you as the source of imagination,

the giver of hope

and the eternal lover.

Grant to all who labor in the arts of communication

a share in those same gifts.

May we continue to share them

with readers, viewers and listeners

who can thrive where imagination replaces complacency,

where hope banishes despair

and where love continues to triumph over war, violence and hatred.

Grant us safe travel home

and peace until next we meet.

In your name we pray.
