Good Shepherd Parish at 400 N. Saginaw, Montrose, MI 48457-0974 US - Home
Thank you for visiting us...
Welcome to Good Shepherd's home on the Internet. We thank you for making a "virtual visit", here on our Website.
We are situated in the northwest corner of Genesee County in a small town called Montrose. The faithful people in Montrose began their work to build a church back in 1979. Their efforts bloomed on May 4, 1981, when the parish family celebrated their first Liturgy together in their new church. Our current 320-household parish is known as a small, friendly, hospitable and life-giving community.
I invite you to return to our site as often as you would like and remember that you will find the latest news and information about our parish family right here. May the Good Shepherd bless you and your family and your spiritual journey as Catholics, "virtual Catholics", that is! With Faithful Gratitude, Fr. Roy Horning, Pastor.

Feast of Corpus Christi
On Sunday, June 2nd the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) Pope Francis and Bishop Boyea have asked that each parish host a Holy Hour between 11 a.m. and Noon on this feast day. The Holy Father wants the faithful to adore the One who has given us the perpetual gift of His Presence among us in the Holy Eucharist. Good Shepherd will host a Holy Hour after our 10 am. liturgy.

Reflections from Fr. Roy

'Gay Marriage' or Relgious Freedom: You Can't Have Both
While we wait until June to find out how the U.S. Supreme Court will rule in its two "gay marriage" cases, perhaps it will add a little energy to our prayers to understand that the judges in black will be making a stark choice: The choice is either "gay marriage" or religious ...
Age-Old Prayer Gains More Pray-ers
Many modern Catholics’ familiarity with the Liturgy of the Hours begins and ends with a ditty about an ineffective Matins bell and a dozing friar named Jacques. But due to the encouragement of recent popes, the advent of new technology and the personal witness of Catholic bloggers and ...
