| Fr. Rodolfo Ramon |
Our New Associate Pastor
Father Rodolfo Ramon was born in the city of Holguin in Cuba on March 1, 1956.
He was just 3 years old when the government of Cuba changed to atheistic communism.
In order to study, with much pain in his heart, he had to declare himself atheist in the application forms for higher education. He managed to graduate with a degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology. He then enrolled to take courses in psychology and served as a professor of Medical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine in Holguin.
His first vocational concerns deepened during his study of sciences. He felt the desire to preach the wonders of God which he discovered in his studies every day. After much discernment, prayer and spiritual direction, he entered the Order of Friars Minor.
Despite all the risks, trials and obstacles, he entered the Catholic Seminary in Cuba and on November 29, 1999, he was ordained priest in the Holy Mother Cathedral of Havana, Cuba.
Father Rodolfo came to the Diocese of Orlando in June 2006 and was appointed associate pastor at St. Isaac's Parish in Orlando. In 2007 he was appointed vicar of the parish of St. Jude in Ocala. In the last two years he was in the Diocese of Arecibo in Puerto Rico. Now again he reincorporated in our Diocese of Orlando.
Among his hobbies, he likes watching movies which include: historical, religious and epic-heroic themes. Furthermore he likes to collect “Quijotes” and relics of the saints. Father Rodolfo loves to share with family and friends.
His desire is to serve the Lord in holiness and righteousness all the days of his life.
