Holy Cross Catholic Church at 2438 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713 US - Altar Society
The Holy Cross Altar Society is an organized division of the Liturgy Committee and it coordinates its activities within the guidelines established by the Liturgy Committee. The Altar Society is responsible for the preparation of the altar for church services. The Society seeks to promote spiritual growth and fellowship among its members, and outreach to the wider faith community.
The duties of this organization will include the following:
1) Participating in the preparation of the altar for weekly church services and Holy Days.
2) Changing the linens and backdrops according to the liturgical seasons
3) Holding retreats or other activities to promote the spiritual growth of both the Altar Society members and women of Holy Cross
4) Decorating the church for special occasions.
5) Serving as hostesses for designated parish activities.
Membership
Any woman who is eighteen (18) years or older and is an active participant in the Holy Cross community is invited to our meetings and may join the Altar Society. The Altar Society will meet on the third Sunday of the month immediately after the 10 A.M. Mass.
