Holy Spirit offers religious education for K through 8th grade on Wednesday evenings from 6 - 7.  Youth Group also meets on Wednesday evening.  A pre-K session meets on Sunday mornings during the 10:30 mass.  Class run from September through April.

Holy Fest (Catholic Youth Group)
Holy Fest is for students in grades 9-12. Youth group celebrates fellowship among our young people through play, prayer, service, and fund raising for trips and activities.  The group meets on Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Kathy Schroeder at 534-7906.

 
North Platte Catholic Schools

For more than 100 years, North Platte Catholic Schools have guided students in developing a strong, life-long value system that encompasses every aspect of life.  Students at McDaid Elementary (K-6)and St. Patrick Middle-Senior High (7-12) learn to develop their potential surrounded by the tradition of academic excellence.  New in 2008 "Little Leprechaun Preschool" for kindergarten prep ages 4 and 5.  The Catholic schools are a teaching ministry of Holy Spirit and St. Patrick's Churches.  We still continue to reflect the goal - "to teach as Jesus did."  For enrollment information, contact Jennifer Winder at 532-1874.

~Sacraments~

First Reconciliation / First Eucharist
The sacraments of first Reconciliation and first Eucharist are given at the second grade level.  Reconciliation is scheduled for the fall and Eucharist preparations being in the spring. The preparation includes sacrament-specific activities and classes prior to the celebration of each sacrament.  Contact Kathy Schroeder at the Religious Education Office 534-7906 for registration and more information.

Confirmation
All parish juniors and seniors are invited to register for classes in January.  The preparation includes small group and large group sessions, meeting with a faith menotr and a retreat.  The Bishop celebrates Confirmation in the fall at Holy Spirit call Kathy Schroeder for information.    Baptized Catholics who are beyond high school age may make arrangements for Confirmation with Fr. Jim Novakowski 534-6623

Baptism
Parents are asked to participate in one pre-baptism session before they schedule their child's baptism.  Parents (and godparents, if possible) are encouraged to attend this meeting prior to the birth of the child.  This session may be waived if parents have attended a Baptism session in the last five years and participate weekly in Eucharist.  Please call the office to register.  

Marriage Preparation
The Grand Island Diocese requires a four month preparation period before a  marriage can take place.  Contact the office to make arrangements for pre-marriage instruction or information about entering into a second marriage.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Adults gather one night a week to explore and discuss the teachings of the Catholic Church.  The meetings are for those interested in joining the Church and/or those who are Catholic and would like to update/refresh their understanding of the Catholic Church.  Call the office to register.
