Parish Council Finance Committee
The Holy Spirit Parish Council includes Michael Davis (chair), Jane Hassel, Danyne Killham, Bob Nitsch, James O'Malley, Kim Schroll, Kevin Fuller, and Mike Wolken. Merle Honerman serves as the Finance Board liaison. Jennifer Winder serves as North Platte Catholic School liaison.The function of the council is to discern the needs of the parish community and provide direction for the parish's growth.
The Finance Committee has seven members who monitor the financial condition of the parish and recommend courses of action to assure sound fiscal management and financial stability. The Committee meets quarterly or as needed. Members are asked to serve by the Pastor.
Art and Environment Committee
This committee sets the environment for worship according to the liturgical seasons. Use of liturgical colors, flowers or other plants and other decorations set the mood for liturgy. Core team members meet seasonally to plan, and then additional volunteers are called when it is time to “put it all together.” Anyone interested in helping is asked to call Linda DeTurk 534-5054.
Holy Spirit Music Ministry
Holy Spirit Music Ministry currently has 22 members. We have 6 pianists, 9 guitarists, and most of us sing. Musicians are scheduled to sing at either the Saturday 5:15 or Sunday 10:30 Masses. They are scheduled in groups of 5 or more, and as often as every week or as little as once a month.
Other events that music ministers are asked to provide music for are Holy Day Masses, Communal Penance services, Stations of the Cross (during Lent), and Holy Week Masses.
We plan to have a “Music Jam Session” the first Monday of each month for anyone who would like to attend. We will work on music skills, new songs, as well as any new Mass
parts and songs for Lent, Easter, Advent, and Christmas. The next jam session is planned for Monday, February 4th at 7pm.
Holy Spirit Music Ministry is open to new members at any time. No audition is necessary! For more information please call Maureen Perlinger at 532-5187.
