Committees

PARISH LIFE:  Works to promote community within the family, parish and city by identifying and providing for the social and communal needs of the parishioners. The committee's functions include sponsoring Fellowship Sunday for new parishioners, collecting and distributing food baskets to needy families for Thanksgiving with the coordination of Helping Hands of Goose Creek, St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus. The committee is also responsible for the social gatherings of the church. Meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.

SOCIAL MINISTRIES:  Addresses the needs of the people, promotes justice and corrects social injustices. Fulfillment of the Gospel message is its main concern. Immaculate Conception is one of 12 churches in Goose Creek which supports Helping Hands of Goose Creek, an organization which assists the needy with food, financial aid, medical and dental assistance.
 
LITURGY:   Strives to promote the spirituality of the parishioners and is advised by the pastor and deacons. It promotes the liturgy of the parish through music, hospitality, eucharistic ministers, altar servers, lectors and commentators in their liturgical roles. The committee is responsible for planning all spiritual functions. All ideas and comments are appreciated and must be presented during the meeting which is held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.
 
EDUCATION:  Responsible for meeting the educational needs of adults and children through prayerful and judicious use of resources, including finances, facilities, personnel and material.

RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION:  Grades K5-8: Sunday 8:15 & 10:15 AM, YMP (High School):Sunday 6:00 - 8:00PM; RCIA (Adult): Monday 7:00 - 9:00 PM

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS:   Aids the pastor and is concerned with parish resources, parish support and the effective use and maintenance of the parish property (buildings and grounds). It is responsible for construction, repair and maintenance of church property and assets in the areas not covered by maintenance workers for the parish.
