Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults This rite actually begins when the adult becomes a catechumen and begins an intense study of the Catholic faith. Prior to this, there is a time of inquiry, a looking into the Catholic faith. One doesn't normally join a group without taking the time to learn something about it. Inquiry classes into the Catholic faith offer the opportunity to explore Catholicism and to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, thus laying a foundation for deeper study should the choice be made to continue on this journey of faith. Inquiry classes are for: - Unbaptized adults who are interested in the Catholic faith - Baptized adults from other faith traditions who are seeking a deeper faith experience, especially through a sacramental life - Adults from another faith tradition who are marrying, or are married to a Catholic - Catholics baptized as infants but never fully initiated into the faith.
