Any Third Degree member in good standing, one year after the anniversary of his First Degree, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree. The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups (called "assemblies"). Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve as honor guards at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus.
We are a parish council of St. Thomas the Apostle Church founded on January 22, 2002 through the efforts of Fr. Phil Witkowski and several men of the parish who believe in the values and principles of the Knight s of Columbus and in the importance of having a men's organization that would grow in faith and be of service to our parish. We work closely with our parish in Muskegon, MI, sharing our time and talents in various ministries and projects in our parish and in our community.
Our council is named after Father Rudolph Hornberger and Father Clementin Grosskoph, two Fransican priests who founded St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in 1948. The book, SANDALS IN THE SUN, a compilation of the memories of these two extraordinary Fransicans can be obtained through the parish office.
