Saint Mary's Catholic Home Christmas Party 2009


Christmas Party at Saint Mary’s Catholic Home

On December 5th, the Council sponsored a Christmas Party for the residents of Saint Mary’s Catholic Home. Providing music for the occasion was Karen Scepansky. She was helped by The Edge Church, whose members, in the true spirit of Ecumenicalism, made a lot of people very happy with their singing. A special treat this year was provided by members of ARC School. Their assistance, made our work a lot easier & was appreciated by all. Special thanks goes to the participating Council members led by Grand Knight Frank Perrotto, Tom Scardefield & his wife Brenda, Al Mac Elrath, Henry Glover, Joe Rosito, Ed Ventura, Edsel Van Leuven, Ron Von Stentina, Dick Haughwout, and Bob Huster & his daughter.

Qualifications for Honorary Life Membership is 25 years of continuous membership & 70 years old. Joe joined the Knights in Oct 1979 & has contributed a great deal to the Council.





New Deputy Grand Knight & Outside Guard


New Officers Elected & Installed

At the 26 January meeting Richard Haughwout was elected as Deputy Grand Knight and Thomas Wittenberg as Outside Guard. Their period in office will end 30 June 2010. Worthy District Deputy Paul Riegert & his District Warden Albert Mac Elrath certified the installation

GENERAL FOURTH DEGREE INFORMATION


Any Third Degree member in good standing, 6 months from date of first degree date, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree. The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups (called "assemblies"). Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve as honor guards at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus.
