The Knights of Columbus is a Fraternal, Charitable and Patriotic organization of Catholic Men. As of June 30, 2004, there are 1.68 million members in 12,500 councils. Last year the Knights contributed more than $130.1 million to various charities and donated at least 61.2 million volunteer hours.

Locally some of our charitable works have benefited Rosary Hill and the Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow Little League. Our council also hosts the Senior Citizen Nutrition Program and an annual Free Throw contest.

The Knights of Columbus believe in families, faith and compassion for those in need. We championed the addition of “Under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance, and support the right to life, starting with the unborn. We stand in support of our bishops and religious.

The Knights of Columbus also runs an insurance program that has a AAA rating and as of 2003, the program had $49 billion worth of policies in force and 2003 saw $5.22 billion of new insurance policies written, and premiums in 2003 totaled $768 million and $329 million of dividends were paid.
