Chapter Minutes

Meeting called to order at 8 pm. Prayer and pledge led by Chapter President Doug Sabo. Previous minutes distributed by e-mail were approved as distributed.

Chapter President’s Report

- Some debate on whether to have a December party or not. Motion made to cancel December meeting - motion carried – The December meeting is cancelled. Next meeting is 3rd Wednesday in January (January 16, 2008).

- 7 of 18 Councils have paid Chapter dues. Councils that have paid: 500, 7981, 3730, 10215, 3754, 3698, 12912

- Guest speaker Pat Hearilhy and Pam Bartlett for Carroll High School. They were promoting the “2008 American Dream Raffle”. Mr. Hearilhy gave a comprehensive and very detailed explanation of the program with the hopes that K of C Councils would help sell tickets in return for 20% of proceeds of tickets sold. Tickets are of three levels – Bronze ($49), Silver ($99) and Gold ($129). If you buy 3 Gold, you get one free. There is a guaranteed $100,000 Grand Prize. 2nd Prize is 2008 Automobile. 2 3rd Place Prizes – Dream Vacations. Approximate 172 more prizes from $250 to $1,000. Drawing on May 8. Early bird $500 winners drawn on March 6 and April 10. Flyers will be provided to each council interested in participating. Kickoff will be January 10/15th (estimated). Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer printed and distributed the Treasurer’s Report. Details are available to the Chapter delegates upon request. Checkbook balance as of November 21, 2007 is $6515.17. Income is $1763.71. Expenses are $340.00. Net Income is $1423.71.

Upcoming Degrees:

3724 – 1st Degree on December 13 (Thursday). Candidate Call at 7:00 PM, Degree at 7:30 PM.

14400- 2nd and 3rd Degree on December 9 (Sunday) at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin. Candidate Call at 12:30 PM, 2nd Degree at 1:00 PM, followed by 3rd Degree at approximately 2:00 or 2:30 PM. This is a special degree to bring in new members of 14400 and also new council 14408 of St. Francis DeSales of Lebanon.

7981 – 1st Degree - November 27 – Candidate Call at 7 PM, Degree at 7:30 PM in Beavercreek.

3754 – 1st Degree on Sunday December 9 – Candidate Call at 1:30 PM, Degree at 2:00 PM at Marion Manor on Dog Leg Road.

-Membership - In two reporting periods, things have been a little slow. In Districts 1 through 8 – 10 councils have not brought in any new members. Five councils have submitted no reports. - A Council Revitalization Program will be held at the District Deputies Meeting.

DD#6 - Pat Ewing has put out a call for volunteers to help decorate VA about a week before Christmas. There was a 2nd and 3rd Degree in Tipp City with 42 2nd Degrees conferred and 45 3rd Degrees conferred.

DD#7 - Reminder to Order Free Throw Kits. Must be complete by January 27. Districts by February 10. Regional Date is uncertain as of yet.
