Knights of CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE FOR THE CHAPTER http://home.catholicweb.com/KofCDaytonChapter/index.cfm The meeting was opened at 8:05pm by outgoing President Doug Sabo. The opening prayer was said by our new Chapter Chaplain Fr. Ryan Ruiz, Associate Pastor at Church of the Incarnation in Chapter Minutes Chapter minutes of the previous meeting were approved as published. Chapter President’s Report President Doug Sabo congratulated the members on the formation of 3 new Councils in the area. He reminded the members of the opportunity to raise some funds for their Councils by selling Christmas Cards. He also encouraged the members to take advantage of the Chapter’s sponsorship of a Radio Program on local station 101.1 and 97.7FM by getting FREE advertising for any of their events that are open to the public. Ruiz introduced himself and thanked the Knights on behalf of priests and seminarians everywhere for their prayers and financial support. Treasurer’s Report $ 5,241.11 in checking account as of August 19, 2008 Income for month: $ 280.98 Expenses for month: $ 320.00 Income for fraternal year to date: $1,736.58 Expenses for fraternal year to date: $320.00 Net decrease: $1415.58 for fraternal year (Checkbook balance as of July 1, 2008 - $3825.53) Councils paying dues: 500, 4022, 4024, and 13874.(4 of 19 paid). Receipts and Bills: No Bills but I believe there were some receipts but I didn’t catch them Raffle tickets are available for $10.00. Treasurer’s Report approved by voice vote. Committee Reports Serra Club / K of C Youth Ministry Awards – Henry Borchers Hank Borchers asks that all Grand Knights remember the Youth Ministry Awards and remember to budget money for this coming year. One check already received. As always event will be in April but a firm date has not been established. Rosary Rally Event is on track for 12 October. K of C Columbian Classic – Jim Deime Columbian Classic is Monday October 13. Registration at 10 AM, shotgun start at11 AM. Event will be held at Community Golf Course. $65 includes golf and cart, prime rib dinner with open bar and shirt. Dinner will be at the Christopher Club at State Ceremonials Director – LaVern Fortkamp LaVern reported that there will soon be a new Second Degree Team in the area. A tentative schedule for the Third Degrees is attached Membership Report – Terry Cooney Terry congratulated the members on their outstanding membership results for last year but reminded them that last year was history. One of the biggest challenges for the coming year will be overcoming the loss of a significant number of members to death. He stressed the continuing need to bring in new members. Diocesan Leadership Workshops Members are reminded of the upcoming Workshops: Monday September 22 at 7:30pm at Fr. The resolution calls for the establishment of a Culture of Life Fund at Supreme by taxing the Councils $3/member.
