More than 90 people attended the April 19 environmental justice wokshop at Christ the King Church in Tampa. Hosted by the Diocese of St. Petersburg's Life Ministry office, topics ranged from alternative energy to showing leadering in the greening of parishes and schools to living more lightly on the Earth.
Speakers included:
- Walter Grazer, special advisor to the Naitonal Religious Partnership for the Environment
- Philip van Beynen, University of South Florida assistant professor of geography researching climate change in Florida
- Roberta Fernandez, president of Environmental Advocacy
- Sr. Paula Gonzalez, SC, futurist, educator and environmentalist
- Mary Ann C. Holtz, justice and peace educator and activist
