Christians throughout the Diocese took part in the national 40 Days for Life effort from Sept. 24th through Nov. 2nd. 200 people attended our September 21st Kick-off Vigil led by Bishop Robert N. Lynch and Pastor Glen Gammon of Countryside Christian Center. In addition to 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in America, over 600 volunteers came one or more times to pray in front of Women's OB/GYN Center of Countryside. The clinic shut down one Saturday, women were offered alternatives and we had the opportunity to minister to some who had already experienced and abortion.

150 people attended the Kick-off of 40 Days for Life in St. Petersburg, in front of All Women's Health Center, Inc. The service was led by the Very Rev. Robert Morris and Rev. Bob Gangolu of St. Paul Parish in St. Petersburg. We estimate that over 500 volunteers came to pray in front of the clinic one or more times. This clinic also shut down one Saturday. We know of at least two women who made life decisions as a direct result of our prayer campaign and Mary's Outreach Pregnancy Center noted an over-all increase in life decisions being made by women who were contemplating abortion.
