Indian Days
Indian Days 2007 was highlighted by a Mass at the campground itself with Bishop George Thomas as the celebrant. The drums and music made the event very special to the 500 people that attended. In this picture we witness the offertory procession. The people here actually bring the gifts to the Bishop by using a dance step appropriate to the procession in relation to the sounds of the drum. It is quite beautiful to witness. These kind of events are what make life on the Blackfeet Reservation unique. We value the many times we use the Blackfeet culture to help celebrate the Mass. We thank our Bishop for comming to celebrate with us. At that Mass we were most fully Church. With our Bishop celebrating the Mass we became very aware, and were honored to realize, that Jesus Himself was fully present in that campground arbor, during that Mass of the 2007 North American Indian Days Celebration.
