Little Flower Parish at 204 1st St. N.W., Browning, MT 59417 US - We Serve Our Poor

We Serve Our Poor

Praying Before They Begin The Day
Our St. Vincent de Paul building is a new building built for us by the Catholic Extension Society and the National Catholic Black and Indian Collection Funds. We are proud of the Catholic Church for giving us these two funding agencies. Without them our parish would simply die. The ministry of the St. Vincent de Paul Store is extremely important to the people of our community—especially to young people with babies or young children. Our Blackfeet Reservation has an 80% unemployment rate. The price for clothes today is way beyond the reach of many of our people. Who would want to pay $35.00 for a pair of pants when that money is needed for food— if the money is available for food? We at St. Vincent de Paul sell nearly new clothes for around $2.00. We also try to stock up food for when food stamps run out at the end of the month. This new store replaces an old mobile home that was converted into a store. It got to the point where the upkeep on the old building was taking all our money. (PLEASE see the PHOTO ALBUM) The ministry of St. Vincent de Paul began back in the mid 1970’s by two Sister of Charity of Leavenworth Nuns. Today Sr. Edna Hunthausen S.C.L. is the spiritual director of the St. Vincent de Paul, and Mona Kipling is the manager. We appreciate any money and any nearly new clothes that are sent. Please send these donations to St. Vincent de Paul, Mona Kipling, Little Flower Parish, P.O. Box 529, Browning Mt. 59417.
