The Marriage and Family Institute is a private, non-profit agency that serves all people, regardless of religion, race or ability to pay. The number of uninsured or insured with such high deductibles and/or co-payments which render the insurance unusable, in increasing dramatically. The TX Legislature took away the mental health benefits for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the medicaid participants 21+ years, beginning September l, 2003. This is greatly increasing the number of individuals and families who can only be served with a low sliding scale or pro bono.
