Twenty years, Bishop Thomas Grady, second bishop of Orlando, ordained the first permanent deacons for the Diocese of Orlando. As we mark this historic milestone in the history of the diocese and of the restored permanent diaconate Dcn Bill Cavins has directed that a history of those 20 years be compiled. Deacon Al Castellana, Sts Peter & Paul, has agreed to head the project. It is hoped that this history will be ready to distribute at the 2002 Convocation at Blessed Trinity in Ocala.
