OFFICE OF WORSHIP
We are commited to apply the very best of Catholic theology to the many kinds of formational programs and services we provide. We prepare our liturgical ministers, RCIA catechists and Small Christian Community coordinators and facilitators to have a collaborative role with us, with each other and in their parishes. We work to enrich the faith of the people who comprise the Catholic Church of Southern Illinois.
The Office of Worship, in collaboration with the Diocesan Committee on Small Christian Communities and the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and its committees, seeks to promote the liturgical and spiritual life of the people of God in the Diocese of Belleville.
If this is your first time visiting our website, we hope you find valuable information for your ministry and that you will return often for updates of our services and other important news.
May God bless you in your life and in your ministry!

The purpose of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission (DLC), in collaboration with the Office of Worship, is the structure charged with promoting good liturgical praxis in the Diocese of Belleville, IL. The commission is an advisory board to the bishop who will be advised on the deliberations of the commission.
The functions of the commission are to be informed of local practices regarding the progress of liturgical renewal; to suggest practical undertakings promoting liturgy, especially to assist parish priests, parish liturgy committees in their planning and executing liturgical celebrations and catechesis and, to provide suggested liturgical guidelines for the diocese as commissioned by the bishop.
Members of the commission are appointed by the bishop upon recommendation from the active members of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission. Recommendations should be made to the bishop at the spring meeting with the term of office.
