On the 15th of February, 2007, the Roman Pontiff announced the appointment of Very Monsignor Emmanuel Ade Badejo as the Co-Adjutor Bishop of Oyo Diocese. Msgr Ade Badejo was ordained for the old Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Nigeria over two decades ago and at the creation of the Osogbo Diocese from the Old Oyo Diocesein 1995, he belonged to Osogbo Diocese. He worked as the Director of Communications at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria in Lagos for many years. He was on his way to Rome for his Doctoral studies in Communication - which is supposed to commence this October when he was called upon to get ready to take over the pastoral seat of Oyo Diocese anytime Bishop Adelakun (his ordanining bishop) retires. The entire Diocese of Oyo rejoices with Msgr Badejo on this great appointment. The Episcopal Ordination is scheduled for October 20, 2007 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Cathedral, Oyo, Oyo State.
