We enjoy going to CORE whenever we can. It allows us to take the time to reconnect with each other during our busy schedules. Even though we dialogue often, we enjoy the topics and the presentations we get at CORE and love seeing our friends that we have made in the Retrouvaille Ministry. We remember when we first started going to CORE. We needed the encouragement, open, and honest sharing and used the tools we learned thru the program and C.O.R.E. to help us heal our relationship and give back to the ministry. We have found communities that have strong C.O.R.E. groups, also have a strong sense of giving back through volunteering. This keeps the Retrouvaille program alive and well. our marriage stronger by giving us valuable skills to communicate with and
understand each other in a way that even 20 years of marriage did not. We

"Retrouvaille was a marriage-saver for us. We spent many years in emotional isolation from each other, captives of our judgmental stories about each other. The Retrouvaille Weekend Experience sliced through the years ofnegative attitudes and put us back in touch with each other. The statement, "Love is a decision", really helped us see that, even when we don't "feel" love, we can still CHOOSE to love each other. Daily dialogue and monthly CORE meetings help support us on the path of healing and growth.
J & P, Lansing, married 38 years We have been going to monthly CORE meetings since our Retrouvaille weekend in January 2006. We have truly benefited since CORE kept us in contact with other couples who had learned and were using the Retrouvaille concepts. The first year after our weekend was very tough. We both had doubts that our marriage would survive since anger and disappointment ruled everything in our lives. But something, likely the Holy Spirit, kept us going to CORE. We found caring and support from other couples who believed that marriage can bring untold joy and that difficulties can be resolved. It is only recently that we have become aware of many wonderful things about our marriage and we are rediscovering our love for each other. CORE helped us stick with it even when we thought about quitting. CORE was a lifesaver for our marriage.
