Team TRACK, a new computer club, has recently formed and meets on Mondays from 2:30 - 3:00PM. Team members are training to troubleshoot and do basic repairs for the school computer lab and the classroom computers. Training sessions will last until Christmas break, then each team member will be assigned to a classroom and be responsible for the maintenance the teacher's computer(s). This is a wonderful opportunity for the junior high students to minister to the school, as well as learn a valuable set of skills.
Students took a "pre-test" of basic computer skills the first week the club met. They also learned how to work through the printer menus on the printers to troubleshoot the laser printers in the computer lab. They also learned how to add paper, check for paper jams and change ink cartridges.
Team TRACK anticipates being able to complete maintenance requests such as changing ink cartridges and cleaning hardware. The team will also be assessing and trying to resolve computer hardware and software issues as their skills continue to increase.
