St. Columba Reunion a Success! |
Our first ever St. Columba School reunion was a great success! An Open House from 11 AM to 2 PM drew about 150 graduates, family & friends. Bob Gajewski, a former math teacher, brought a “Bicentennial Quilt” from his home in San Francisco to donate to us. Between 1976 and 1978 children stitched their names on this 8 ft. by 10 ft. quilt. Come by the school to see it! The reunion Dinner at the Hyatt Regency attracted 222 graduates, family & friends. Fr. O’Connor was the M.C., while Msgr. Caligiuri, Sister Donald and Mrs. Marconi all spoke. Sister Diane spoke about the future of the school, now an Early Childhood Montessori School. Father Roy spoke about the new Teen Center and the after school homework help program. Everyone had a great time and hope we do it again next year. The Reunion Committee will meet December 3rd to discuss the results and plan for next year. Fr. Roy and Jim Serafin were the Co-Conveners of the highly successful event. Next Update: Look for pictures from the reunion.
