Hope…..Faith…..Love

With over 33,743 volunteer hours the members of the South Jacksonville Deanery have been very busy throughout this year. They feed the hungry, clothe the poor and have been angels to the sick. They work tirelessly in their Parishes and in the Community.

 The women of this Deanery also work very hard for their Parishes and their Schools. They set up scholarship funds in their schools for needy students; volunteer in many ways at their schools and help in so many ways where they are needed.  

The women make Prayer Blankets for those who are sick, and help in many ways during a time of bereavement.

When the South Jacksonville Women go out into the Community to do God’s work they do it with love and compassion. Some projects that the women are involved in are, ringing bells at Christmas, having Epiphany parties to collect and give toys to the children of farm workers, having Christmas parties and collecting toys for needy children in our community, giving lap blankets and socks to shut-ins, having sing-a longs at Nursing Homes and working in soup kitchens.

We support  the “I Am Special” Fashion Show; we also serve food at camps “I Am Special, Promise and Care”.  We support the “All Saints” Fashion Show and “All Saints” Tea Party.  We participated in the “Hugs for the Homeless” project. We support Water for Life, the Respite program, Domingo Bocca and our Deanery’s special project “Women of Hope” this is about women in Afghanistan. Each individual affiliation has many other projects that they do through out the year.

The South Jacksonville Deanery, as a board,  went to L’Arche Harbor House which is a community for adults with developmental disabilities. This is the one project that we do as a board; it is very close to our hearts. We do a dinner for those wonderful people but they do so much more for us, their loving and caring spirits show us what the true meaning of love is all about.

We just had our South Jacksonville Deanery Spring General Meeting, the affiliation and commission reports were done by Saints or Women from the Bible. They told their individual council stories through these spiritual people of the Bible.  We have many wonderful actors in our Deanery. We had a wonderful and fun filled evening.

The South Jacksonville Deanery is made up of so many wonderful and caring women who believe that they are here to do the work of God through “Hope, Faith and Love”
