CATHOLIC WOMAN’S CLUB ST. AUGUSTINE DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN The Catholic Woman's Club is on the move again. Because of the poor economy, the Cummer has had to cut back on their staff and can no longer offer meeting space to outside organizations, however, as a special favor, they will welcome us back for the December meeting. We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 11 AM November though May at Catering by Liz, 919 King Street except 11 AM December 8 at Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, 829 Riverside Avenue. Our projects include scholarships to Bishop Kenny and Bishop John Snyder High Schools, Born Free, St. Vincent's Children's Clinic, Guardian of Dreams and CWC Foundation Grant. We will have some interesting and exciting meetings this year begining with Mass celebrated by moderator, Fr. Tony Sebra, November 10 and a little housekeeping. Since two of our former officers moved out of town and one passed away last year, we have a new slate of officers to be installed at the November meeting and some loose ends to tie up. Instead of a speaker, our loyal members will catch us up on what they are doing and where they vacationed last summer. In December we will meet at the Cummer and bring Christmas gifts for the children in the Family Practice Clinic at St. Vincent's Medical Center. The new director of that program will bring us a message from the families in the program. January 12 back at Catering By Liz is travel month. Marilynl Tomlinson from Elderhostel will bring us travel and educational opportunities offerred through that program. February 9 we honor our past presidents with a musical program. March 9 is back to school, Principal David Yazdiya from Bishop John Snyder High School will accept our scholarship donation and bring us news from the students. April 13 we learn about the Florida Times-Union from the editorial page editor, Mike Clark. May 11 is Decision Day. We have Mass and a Town Hall Meeting to set goals and decide where we want to go from here. Do we want to continue as a "retired ladies" club or do we want to reach out to younger mothers and/or career women who can not meet for lunch which would require a change in meeting time. All Catholic women in the Diocese of St Augustine who wish to participate in our programs are invited to join the Catholic Woman's Club.
