PARENTS SEEKING BAPTISM FOR THEIR CHILDREN must be registered members of the parish. A preparation class as well as an interview with the pastor must take place before the date for a baptism can be set. Call the Ministry Center for class dates. 696-7307
BEING A GODPARENT
A godparent must be a registered member of a Catholic Parish who has been baptized, confirmed, and if married, married in the Catholic Church, or had received permission from the Bishop to marry in a non-Catholic church. A Catholic who has become a member of a non-Catholic church may not be a witness or godparent. A baptized Christian of another denomination may only be a “Christian Witness.” Remember, the godparent is making a profession of faith for the child being baptized. Please keep this in mind when choosing godparents.
