There is a stipend of $10 per mass. For couples celebrating wedding anniversaries in 2010, please schedule your Mass early. If you wait until a few weeks before your desired date, the Mass may not be available. Please come to the ministry center, or call Nancy at 696-7307. Father Ted Nordquist would like to meet and greet as many people as he can. Feel free to contact the parish Ministry center for more details. 696-7307 INQUIRERS INTO THE CATHOLIC FAITH are invited to become part of the faith formation journey known as RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.) This process assists adults preparing for baptism, as well as baptized Christians interesed in joining the Catholic Church and CATHOLIC ADULTS IN NEED OF CONFIRMATION. Sign-ups are available the 1st Sunday of each month after Mass in the cry room, or call Lois at 696-0244. PARENTS SEEKING BAPTISM FOR THEIR CHILDREN must be registered members of the parish. A preparation class as well as an interview with the pastor must take place before the date for a baptism can be set. Call the Ministry Center for class dates. COUPLES PLANNING ON MARRIAGE must contact the pastor at least six months prior to the proposed wedding date. One of the persons must be a registered member of St. Edward's. There are several meetings with the pastor as well as a marriage Preparation Program facilitated by specially trained couples in the parish. Please note: Catholics are required to get married in the Catholic Church if they wish to be considered practicing Catholics. IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS contact the pastor for anointing of the sick. If someone is seriously ill in the hospital and they would like Father Peter to visit them, please call the Ministry Center. THE HOMEBOUND are taken communion every Friday. Please let us know if someone is in need of a visit. Call Cindy 696-7127 PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY is available for those dealing with loss, death and bereavement, and other special needs including homebound and nursing home visitation. If you would like to receive help, or offer help in this ministry, call the Ministry Center. FUNERALS are generally celebrated in the church only for registered members of the parish. If you or your loved one is not registered, please do not wait until it's too late. CEMETERY LOTS are still available in St. Edward Cemetery (located North of Commercial, just West of Burr Street.) ST. EDWARD SCHOOL offers Pre-School, full day kindergarten, first through sixth grade. Call the school office at 696-9876 for information. CENSUS FORMS are available at the Ministry Center Office. Even if you are a long-time member, if you have had changes in the information about you and/or your family, please provide us with updated information. If you would like to be removed from the parish register, please let us know. PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD is available September through May for children ages 3 yrs-Kindergarten age. The children join teachers and teen assistants in the Ministry Center during the 11:00 am Mass to celebrate the Word of God in their own special way. Parents pick up their children after Mass. YOUTH MINISTRY EVENTS are for 7th Graders through High School age students. ADULT CHOIR practices every Monday beginning at 6:30 pm in the Church. No experience is needed, only a heart that loves to sing praise to God. We are also looking for people who play instruments, such as the flute, clarinet, violin, guitar, drums, etc. CHILDREN'S CHOIR is made up of school age children who sing for the children's liturgy twice a month. Call Tony at 696-7387 BIBLE STUDY is available September through May in the school gym on Sundays from 9:30-10:30am. the class is for all age groups. There is no fee, just bring a Bible. MOM'S BIBLE STUDY meets with Moms and their children at the home of Rosanne Kouris, 696-1308. Call for scheduled times. MIGRANT MINISTRY reaches out to area migrant workers. This group helps offer liturgies in Spanish on location at area farms. We assist them through charitable donations of non-edible goods and clothing for hot and cold weather. Volunteers are needed to help meet the transportation needs of migrant workers and to help collect and distribute donated items. A Mass in Spanish is offered at St. Edward church every Sunday at 2:00pm. A potluck dinner is sometimes followed after the Mass.
