Fr Bill Ashbaugh was born and raised in Butler, PA. Butler is 40 miles due north of Pittsburgh, PA. Fr Bill came out to Michigan in 1986 to study in a Ph.D. program at Michingan State University. After completing his course work for the Ph.D., Fr. Bill was encouraged to consider the priesthood. With much prayer and support from the Church, Fr. Bill entered the seminary and was ordained a priest in 1993. He has served at St. Pius X in Flint (1993-94) with Msgr. Richard Groshek, and at St Thomas the Apostle Parish (1994-97) with Fr. Roger Prokop, and as Pastor of St. Mary Church in Westphalia from 1997-2001. He was assigned as pastor of St. Joseph Church in Howell on Jan. 2, 2001. Fr Bill enjoys playing tennis, golf, playing guitar, and the outdoors. He is allergic to nuts so he has to go easy on the deserts and cookies.
