St. Mary's Celebrates 30th Anniversary! |

It had been quite a while since our parish celebrated such an important milestone as this, so we looked forward to this date with great eagerness. But the day finally arrived, October 21, 2007, and even though Bishop Robert Moskal was unable to come, we hardly noticed as we enthusiastically greeted Bishop Basil Losten, who had graciously come at the last minute to stand in for him. He received the traditional gifts from us of flowers, bread and salt at the door of the church, then processed into the church to begin the Divine Liturgy. In addition, we welcomed Bishop Thomas Wenski of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orlando and Father Timothy LaBo, pastor of St. Francis Roman Catholic parish here in Apopka. Both were very impressed with the liturgy and thanked us for inviting them. After the Divine Liturgy, there was naturally a typical St. Mary's--meaning excellent--dinner. A special thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success!
