| Important Confirmation News! |
This is our last regular class for Confirmation. There is some information that you will need over the next couple of weeks in order for everything to run smoothly. Please read this entire newsletter so that you will know all of the important times/dates/ and information for the remainder of the program. We hope this will answer any questions you may have. Please email me or call if you require further details. Thank you for helping to make this such a beautiful experience for your child. If your child has missed a class: Postcards will be sent out this week if your child has missed a class. They will be required to attend our make up class next Sunday, November 8th from 4:00-5:15pm in St. Matthew School. The class they missed and the room they need to report to on the 8th will be listed on the postcard. Please email me if you have any questions after receiving the postcard. Our retreat is Sunday, November 15th from 1:30-9:00pm. You need to drop your child off at the Church at 1:30 on this date. It will be a bit chaotic with Mass letting out at the same time, so please be patient and factor this in to your travel time. You will pick up your child from the church at 9pm. Please let us know ASAP if your child has any food allergies so that we can work together to make sure your child will have something appropriate to eat for snacks and dinner. We need help with the retreat on 11/15. We need lots of help in order to make this retreat a success. If you can help us out for a bit on that day, we would be very appreciative. High school juniors and seniors are welcomed to volunteer as well. We need people for the following shifts: 12-3, 3-6, and 6-9pm. Please email me at hking@stmatthewcatholic.org or Karen Craig at kcraig@stmatthewcatholic.org to sign up. THANK YOU!!!! Our reconciliation service is Thursday November 19th at 7pm. Please bring your child to the church at this time. We ask that you remain in the church until your child has gone to reconciliation as teens are free to leave once they have received the sacrament. Sponsors DO NOT need to attend. Since we have such a large number of teens in our program, we respectfully request that only our teens receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at this special service. If parents or other family members would like to go to reconciliation, we ask that you please attend during our parish’s regularly scheduled times: Saturdays 4-5 and Wednesdays 6:30-7:15. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Confirmation is Friday November 20th or Saturday November 21st. The Friday Mass is at 7pm, and we ask that the student and sponsor report to the Banquet Room in the New Life Center no later than 6:15. There are two Masses on Saturday, one at 10am and one at 2pm. If you are assigned to the 10 am, please come to the banquet room with your sponsor no later than 9:15, and for the 2pm, please plan to arrive with your sponsor no later than 1:15. Dress Code for Confirmation: When they arrive at the banquet room before their Mass, students will be given red robes to wear. We recommend church clothes and dress shoes be worn under the robes. No jeans, please, and no tennis shoes if you own a pair of dressier shoes. When you and your sponsor arrive at the banquet room that day, please come in and find your teachers so that you can get your robe and nametag and get checked in. I hope this newsletter is helpful as you plan your calendar for the next couple of weeks. Please feel free to email or call me if you need any additional information.
