Vowed Religious Sisters, Brothers, and Nuns serve the church in many capacities:  teachers, doctors, dedicated pray-ers, nurses, and  pastoral ministers to name a few.  For more information on the various of religious congregations, contact the Director of Vocation Services at the Lansing Diocese Department of Formation, 1-517-342-2506.

St. Matthew Parish is served by the Augustinians of the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel based near Chicago.  A single man seeking to discern a vocation as an Augustinian Brother for that province must contact the Vocation Director through the Province Office in Illinois at (708) 748-9500.

Lay Ecclesial Ministers in the Diocese of Lansing are authorized by the bishop to serve publically in the local church in a particular area of ministry:  including religious education, youth ministry, Catholic Charities, and other pastoral positions.  These lay people must be certified and accredited  according to the National Standards of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops.  For more information, contact the Director of Lay Ecclesial Ministry at the Lansing Diocese Department of Formation, 1-517-342-2512.
