Sr. Dorothy Jayne Krupp, Saint Michael the Archangel’s Pastoral Associate, was born and raised in Norwalk, Ohio. She has two brothers and a sister. Her parents are deceased. Sr. Dorothy attended high school at Saint Clare Academy in Sylvania, Ohio and entered a religious community in August, 1959. She was received into the novitiate of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Sylvania, Ohio. After two years of religious and academic formation, Sister made temporary vows and began the teaching ministry in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate studies for a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and, on August 10, 1966, made her perpetual profession as a Sister of Saint Francis of the Congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes, Sylvania, Ohio. Sr. Dorothy devoted twenty-three years to the teaching ministry in primary schools in Minnesota and Ohio.
In 1985, she began parish ministry and spent the next twelve years at Saint Martin de Porres Parish in Warren, Michigan as the Director of Worship. It was at Saint Martin that Sister met and worked with Fr. Rooney when he first arrived in the United States. During this time, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry. For the past years, Sr. Dorothy has served the parishioners of Saint Michael as Pastoral Associate. Her responsibilities include Religious Education, Adult Faith Formation, the RCIA program, Pastoral Ministry and Worship.
Sr. Dorothy has celebrated forty-five years of Religious Profession as a Sister of Saint Francis. When not occupied with her duties at Saint Michael, she enjoys traveling, walking, cooking, concerts , leading pilgrimages, and God’s beautiful creations.
