The Bishop, through the Pastor, appoints men and women to assist priests and deacons as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Qualities for this ministry include maturity, strength of faith and devotion to the Holy Eucharist. Training sessions are held, and Ministers are "installed" according to the Rite of Commissioning." Ministers are encouraged to participate in an annual enrichment or renewal session.
Anyone interested in becoming a Minister of Holy Communion is encouraged to contact Jean Brose at 241-0816 or by contacting our Pastoral Associate, Sr. Dorothy Krupp, at 241-8645. For information on the Ministers of Holy Communion to the Homebound - providing Holy Communion to those unable to attend Mass - please contact Terrie Noland at 241-6095. For information on the Eucharistic Ministry to Catholics living in TenderCare Nursing Home, please contact Mary Bilan through the Parish office. The Pastor celebrates Mass at TenderCare Nursing Home on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 am in the community room.
Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest by distributing Holy Communion during daily and weekend Masses, and by traveling to homes, hospitals, nursing centers and other facilities in and around Monroe to deliver the Holy Eucharist. Each of our many Ministers of Holy Communion is dedicated to proclaiming the love and hospitality of Christ Jesus by ministering to those less fortunate in our Parish - and any other Catholic in need.
