Conquest Boys Club
What is ConQuest?
ConQuest is a National network of leadership programs, clubs, and camps for boys and young men 5 - 16 years of age. ConQuest trains boys to become self-disciplined and confident young men, Catholic leaders who posses moral integrity and are committed to improving the communities in which they live.
ConQuest is based on Catholic principles of spiritual development. Its programs are designed to instill virtue, develop character and encourage spiritual growth, while offering its participants challenging physical, intellectual and spiritual activities within an atmosphere of adventure.
Recognizing the obstacles and false ideals that youth encounter in today's culture, ConQuest empowers boys to face and overcome these difficulties rather than ignore and succumb to them. ConQuest organizes exciting adventures and challenges; through these experiences boys learn that human and spiritual development can go hand-in-hand with many of their favorite activities.
ConQuest, through its athletic, educational and creative programs, provides a wholesome atmosphere in which boys naturally develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, their brother and friend. This bond will awaken in each boy a desire to serve as His apostle; it will motivate him to serve Church, home, community and school. In short, the program is designed to produce mature young men who live their Catholic life authentically.
ConQuest accomplishes its mission through a network of year-round clubs and summer camps directed by Catholic leaders who are committed to the highest Christian ideals. In order to aid the family in guiding a young boy through the process of becoming a mature young man, ConQuest utilizes a pedagogy specifically designed to provide an integral human and spiritual formation. All activities promote friendship, fun and formation in a wholesome, structured and challenging environment.
Locally, ConQuest Boys' Club meets on Thursday nights 6:30-8:30pm in the Gym and the John Paul II Room.
Fathers are asked to attend with their sons, ages 5-16, a night filled with sports and activities, snacks, and religious fun.
Each boy gets a Commitment Card and must commit to saying his morning and night prayers, obeying his parents, obeying his teachers and instructors, paying attention and assisting at Holy Mass, and loving and respecting his brothers and sisters.
The three main virtues the men and boys focus on are obedience, responsibility, and respect.
The boys are split into two squads in each age group, and competitions are great. Each team receives points for the good things they do.
