Ministry to Persons with Same-Sex Attraction |

In the Archdiocese, we are called to minister to all of God’s children: this includes those who experience the challenge of a sexual orientation other than heterosexual.
The Church has consistently pronounced what our Lord has said, “You are to love in the way I have loved you.” Thus love and friendship are extended to everyone as we strive to follow the truth of the whole Gospel and teachings of the Church. For we are brothers and sisters in Christ our Lord. We are a Christian family and community, his Church. As his Church, we call to mind what he has proclaimed: “Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.”
Thus we seek to assist those who struggle with same sex attraction, so that they may discover God’s presence in their lives, follow the commandments, and help them realize their potential within the larger Christian community.
In so doing, the Archdiocese of Miami supports the national program of Courage ministry. This ministry aims to support those with same-sex attraction and who desire to live a chaste life in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
