If you are interested in attending this session you must go to the VIRTUS website (www.virtus.org) and register in advance. Other sessions will be available throughout the year if you are unable to attend this one. I will post those in the newsletter as they become available.
Can-the-Turkey Drive— Students are asked to donate canned goods to vote for the person they want as the “Turkey”. Boxes for each candidate are in the hall. The person who wins will go to each classroom wearing a turkey costume and will also win a free turkey for Thanksgiving. Canned goods will be donated to the Qulin Nutrition Center this year. Cast Party- will be held immediately after the Christmas Play on Dec. 1 at the KC Hall. A list of workers for the party are attached. Each family is asked to bring an appetizer/finger food for the party. Hot Chocolate and cake will be provided.
Big/Little Brother/Sister Gift Exchange will be on Dec.15 after mass. There is a $10 limit on gifts. A list of brothers and sisters is being sent in today’s packet. Due to the ratio of older students to younger students, some older students have been assigned two younger students. Younger students are to buy one gift only, for the older student. They do not buy for the other younger student listed. Older students will buy a gift for both younger students since they will be receiving a gift from each of them. Gifts must be turned in to the teacher by Friday, Dec. 9, so that we can make sure every student will have a gift before the exchange.
Penny Auction– we will be having a student penny auction at school in December. If you have any items you would like to donate for this event, please drop them off at the school office.
“Celebrating Home” Fundraiser—We will be having a fundraiser to help offset the decline in profits we have been experiencing in Bingo the last few months. Flyers will go home today in the packets. Some of the items include: candles, gift wrap and bags, food mixes, and cookie dough. These would be great for Christmas. The school will receive 50% profit and there will be prizes of $50 each for the top 2 sellers.
Basketball Workers—Door workers need to be at the gym 30 minutes before game time. “B” game workers will work the concession stand between games. “A” game workers will help clean lobby, gym, and bathrooms after the “A” game.
FOUNDERS DAY—St. Teresa Parish will be awarding a Grand Prize of $2500.00 and 20 - $250.00 prizes on February 26, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall. 500 tickets will be sold at $50.00 each.
