The Venice Diocese covers ten counties in the southwest corner of the state of Florida. In that area there are fifty-five Catholic parishes. Thirty-three of them have Council of Catholic women (CCW) affiliations. These affiliations are members of the VDCCW. The Venice Diocesan CCW is one of seven Diocesan Councils of Catholic Women making up the Florida Council of Catholic Women (FCCW). The FCCW is a member of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) and the NCCW is a member of WUCWO (World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations). All of these affiliations are involved in doing the Lord’s work, feeding the poor, clothing the hungry, housing the homeless and working for justice. We, the thirty-three affiliations of the VDCCW, through our volunteering and donations, help the needy on the parish and diocesan level and also on the national and international level. However, we are more than that. The NCCW acts through its affiliated organizations to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world. That is the NCCW Mission Statement which we, the VDCCW, as a member of the NCCW, embraces.
