Welcome to the Archdiocese of Chicago, Catholic Committee on Scouting Online
This website is provided and designed as a resource website for all those who labor and serve youth and adults in Catholic youth ministry utilizing the traditional program of the Boy Scouts of America as Youth Ministry in the Archodiocese of Chicago, IL. The Archdiocese of Chicago serves youth and adults in over 300 Scouting units in parishes/missions in Cook and Lake Counties in Illinois. The Cub Scout program basically serves boys in grades first through fifth grade. The Boy Scout program basically serves boys in grades sixth through twelve. The Venture program is targeted at high school and college age boys and girls. The Archdiocese of Chicago, Catholic Committee on Scouting Chairman and Scout Chaplain are appointed by the Cardinal, and is administratively part of the Office for Catechesis and Youth Ministry! We serve youth in six BSA councils, Calumet, Chicago Area, Des Plaines Valley, Northeast Illinois, Northwest Illinois, and Three Fires. Our new location is 1025 West Fry Street, Chicago, IL 60622. Our new hours are daily 10 AM - 4 PM. Our new phone is (312) 243-3700 If the resource you are looking for is not on this site, please log onto the National Catholic Committee on Scouting website at www.nccs-bsa.org. The National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS) operates under the auspices of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops. While NCCS has a long history tradition of cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America dating to 1937, NCCS as well as the local committee, are Church Committees and NOT part of the Boy Scouts of America. Thank you for all you do everyday in Scouting as Youth Ministry in our young Church!
