The Oasis after school program outreach serves the neighborhood Hispanic/Latino children in grades K-3.  Tutors/mentors help children with their homework and also reinforce developing academic necessary skills. Tutors also help children develop social, intellectual, and interpersonal skills.  At Oasis, tutors have an opportunity to practice the Spanish language, learn about the Mexican culture, learn tutoring methodologies, and mentoring skills.

Our tutors are dedicated individuals looking to make a difference in the community. Collegians are always welcomed to tutor at Oasis whether they come to fulfill requirements for class credit, a sorority or a fraternity, besides philanthropic or charitable motives (knowledge of the Spanish language is not a requisite for tutors).
